WEO Ministires Saclepea Orphanage Mission Group in Africa

WEO Orphanages

WEO Ministries supports Christian orphanages in Africa by caring for vulnerable children through Bethany House Orphanage in Liberia and House of Grace Orphanage in Sierra Leone. Through child sponsorship in Africa and ongoing support for orphanages in Africa, WEO helps provide housing, food, education, and Christian care.

WEO supports two (2) orphanages: one in Mattru, Sierra Leone and the second in Saclepea, Liberia.  Both orphanages are accredited through their respective country's Ministry of Gender and Child Welfare and are considered "Blue Ribbon" facilities surpassing the country's standards for child care and protection.

Many of the children who have come to the Bethany House and House of Grace homes, arrived during the Ebola outbreak of 2014 and 2015, and the civil wars that took place in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Saclepea, Liberia Orphanage: Bethany House

WEO Orphange in Africa

The Bethany House Orphanage is located in Saclepea (Eastern) Liberia.  This orphanage was originally started in 1995 by Henry D. Dargbeh Sr. and Rebekah K. Dargbeh in the City of Bentol who were given many of the children that were abandoned from the country's civil war.

In 2017, WEO was introduced to the Dargbeh's and agreed to help out by restoring the orphanage compound buildings and furniture.  In 2022, a new 2-story school was built on the orphanage site (K-12), and the local church congregation helped to build a new church building as well.   The children (approximately 63) have been provided new bunk beds, mattresses, pillows and bedding.

Kenya Orphanage: House Of Hope

The orphanage in Mogongu, Kenya is our most recent addition to the WEO Ministries family.

Pastor Daniel Mose is the head overseer in Kenya with approximately 20 children residing on site and others living with caregivers within the surrounding neighborhood.

The Kenyan orphanage has three buildings, a main home where Pastor Mose and his family live and where all food is prepared and served.  It also serves as a meeting location for bible studies, meetings etc.  A second building is used as a dormitory for the children.  Currently, we are exploring options to provide additional living quarters to separately house the boys and girls.
